Army Spouse Launches First Community Food Pantry at Fort Leavenworth as Military Families Face Food Insecurity
At Fort Leavenworth, U.S. Army spouse Monica Bassett is addressing food insecurity head-on. She serves her community with boxes of food donations, just as her husband serves in the military. She started all this out of her garage, but with the support of the community, Bassett will open the Stronghold Community Food Pantry on Tuesday, November 22.

Military Marriage Day Set to Celebrate Both Oaths and Vows of Military Couples Amid Higher Divorce Rates of Deployed Military Members

Armed Forces Insurance Postpones 2021 Military Spouse of the Year® Week
Due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic and the need for social distancing, Armed Forces Insurance (AFI), along with sponsors and key community stakeholders, has decided to postpone the 2021 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® (AFI MSOY) week, initially scheduled for May 3-7, 2021, in Washington, D.C. and will now be held September 7-9, 2021.

Armed Forces Insurance Extends 2020 Military Spouse of the Year® Term
Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) announced that it had made the difficult decision to extend the 2020 AFI Military Spouse of the Year® (MSOY) class into a two-year term due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company had hoped to hold events later this year, but with uncertainty as to when mass participation events might be allowed, this is no longer possible.
