Military Spouse of the Year® Program acquired by Armed Forces Insurance

LEAVENWORTH, KS (October 2, 2018) - Spouses of our brave military members are the backbone of our service branches, providing support to their loved ones and the communities they live and work in. And so it is with great pleasure that Military Spouse Magazine and Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) announce the recent re-structure and expansion of the Military Spouse of the Year® (MSOY) program.

Under the terms of the agreement, long time title sponsor Armed Forces Insurance will now own and operate the MSOY awards event and program. Military Spouse magazine and its digital platforms will continue to promote MSOY as the primary media partner.

"In the first eleven years of the MSOY program, we have provided thousands of amazing military spouses a platform to talk about issues important to them, their families and their communities," said Chris Hale, MSOY founder and CEO of veteran-owned Neptune Holdings, Military Spouse's parent company. "As founder of the MSOY program, the long-term prosperity of this program is extremely important to us and Armed Forces Insurance will no doubt be a good steward to see this program into its second decade and beyond."

Heading into its twelfth year, the Military Spouse of the Year® program represents the more than 1.1 million past and present military spouses who dedicate their lives and families to service of a grateful nation and give back to communities in need. The award program honors military spouses from all six branches of the Armed Forces who are making a difference in their communities. The selection process begins with national nominations with subsequent rounds of voting, based on five categories of qualification, to determine base level and branch level winners culminating in the overall Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year being named in May of each year.
