Armed Forces Insurance Extends 2020 Military Spouse of the Year® Term
LEAVENWORTH, KS (AUGUST 10, 2020) - Today, Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) announced that it had made the difficult decision to extend the 2020 AFI Military Spouse of the Year® (MSOY) class into a two-year term due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company had hoped to hold events later this year, but with uncertainty as to when mass participation events might be allowed, this is no longer possible.
Now in its 13th year honoring the unwavering dedication of our nation's more than 1.1 million military spouses, AFI is proud of its long tradition of recognizing the sacrifice and rewarding the hard work of military spouses from all six branches of the Armed Forces, who continue to inspire others and have a tangible, measurable effect on their communities.
Every year in May, military spouses gather for a week in Washington, D.C., for the AFI Town Hall event, also known as MSOY Week. It's the most anticipated community event of the year with engaging speakers providing encouragement, strategies for thriving, and even tactical knowledge about how to better everything from your resume to your marriage.
