Announcing the Base Winners for the 2022 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year®
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 17, 2022) - The names of individual Base winners were announced today for the 2022 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® award. Winners were selected from a group of more than 300 nominees after one week of national online voting.
Americans are invited to learn more about each of these accomplished Base Spouses of the Year® at msoy.afi.org.
Since 2013, nominations have been accepted at the Base (Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Space Force), District (Coast Guard), and State (National Guard) level. Voters then elect a Base-level winner at each installation. Base Spouses of the Year® represent the best leaders and advocates for their local community. They are key to trailblazing grassroots efforts that drive change and make the community more inclusive. The award recipients are inducted into a year-round program for military spouses to earn leadership credentials, expand their networks, learn valuable life and advocacy skills, and make a difference in their communities.

Voting to select winners will be held in multiple phases:
- February 25: Branch Finalists Announced
- March 1-2: Branch Vote
- March 7: Branch Winners Announced
- March 10-11: National Vote
The overall 2022 Armed Forces Insurance Military Spouse of the Year® will be revealed at an invite-only VIP event in Washington, DC, on May 5, 2022, attended by Base- and Branch-level winners, senior military leaders, elected officials, and community partners.
