Deidra has been a Navy command Ombudsman for 17 years of my 23 years in naval service. She currently holds the command Ombudsman position for Naval Base San Diego, Commander, Navy Region Southwest, and Commander, Surface Forces Pacific (three major commands). She is also the CNIC Ombudsman of the Year and the 2021 Sybil Stockdale award winner for ashore commands. She was hand picked to these major command positions based off her inspiration and engagement with the San Diego naval community. The work she puts in as a volunteer in these positions is unlike anything I have ever seen. She dedicates countless hours daily and never fails to provide valuable guidance to anyone who contacts her. She is beyond a shadow of a doubt one of the biggest advocates for the military and above all, she has supported me completley throughout my career. It is my absolute pleasure to nominate Deidra as a Military Spouse of the Year!
